Roles & Playstyles in Heroes Strike - Modern Moba

Frontline Units

  • Role: These heroes stand at the front, taking the brunt of the enemy’s assault while shielding teammates behind them. They anchor your formation and allow your damage dealers to survive and shine.
  • Main Strengths: High base health, strong armor, and skills that knock enemies back, slow them down, or create area blocks. Some can even self-heal or taunt enemies into attacking them.
  • Playstyle: Focus on absorbing damage early, interrupting enemy combos, and setting up good team fights. Frontliners are rarely flashy but always essential.
  • Hero Types: Tanks, disruptors, and bruisers with control-focused kits — like those who reduce incoming damage, draw aggro, or lock enemies into bad positions.
  • Board Role: Form the first wall of defense. They decide how long your team can hold out, where enemies focus their attacks, and whether your lineup survives long enough to use their skills.

Assassins

  • Role: Assassins are designed to get in fast, eliminate key enemy units, and get out. They target the softest targets and break the flow of enemy damage and healing setups.
  • Main Strengths: Fast movement, high burst damage, and precision strikes. They are great at punishing weak positioning and cleaning up the backline before enemies can respond.
  • Playstyle: They work best when paired with good timing and scouting. Catch your opponent off guard, wipe out their healers or mages, and leave the rest of the team vulnerable.
  • Hero Types: Agile damage dealers that prioritize speed over defense. Most of them can blink, dash, or go invisible to bypass the frontline and strike where it hurts most.
  • Board Role: Hit hard and fast. They disrupt the enemy’s structure, create early chaos, and allow your frontline to win the numbers game with fewer threats to worry about.

Casters

  • Role: Casters use powerful abilities to hit multiple enemies or deliver devastating single-target blows. They often define the pace of the fight and can swing the match in one well-timed cast.
  • Main Strengths: Wide-area damage, strong control spells, and game-changing ultimates. While fragile, their damage output is among the highest in the Game.
  • Playstyle: Protect your caster, give them time to charge skills, and time their spells right. In the late Game, one well-positioned spell can wipe out entire teams.
  • Hero Types: Energy-based or mana-based heroes that rely on cooldowns and positioning. They often need backup from supports or tanks to avoid early death.
  • Board Role: They are your main source of spike damage. Keep them alive and they’ll deliver round-winning combos — lose them early, and you lose your best chance at a comeback.

Support & Utility

  • Role: These heroes don’t take the spotlight but enable everyone else to perform better. They keep the team going with heals, shields, and skill boosts, or weaken enemies with well-placed debuffs.
  • Main Strengths: They extend the life of your key heroes, create space in fights, and help you survive longer trades. Some support units can even change the Game by denying enemy ultimates or removing buffs.
  • Playstyle: Stay behind the lines, time your skills well, and don’t waste cooldowns. Supports are about patience, positioning, and understanding the flow of the fight.
  • Hero Types: Healing-focused heroes, cleanse casters, or control specialists who apply slow, silence, or weaken effects. Often overlooked, but irreplaceable in balanced builds.
  • Board Role: Make your lineup more durable and consistent. Whether you’re running full offense or a defensive wall, a good support keeps your Game plan stable and improves your long-term win rate.
